Job Location: Pittsburgh, PA
- Collaborate with other software architects, software engineers, quality engineers, and other team members to design and build solutions that best fit the requirements
- Leading initiatives to build and deliver targeted data sets, analytical insight and complex dashboards for Health Care customers to improve process efficiency and patient outcomes
- Creating solutions in an Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment, utilizing Amazon Linux, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, Athena, and Jaspersoft as part of our modernization strategy
- Developing high performing ETL solutions to integrate data from customers and internal systems
- Creating and automating component unit tests, measuring and improving software performance, and taking pride in the quality of component deliverables
- Supporting and extending automated deployment solutions
- Practice and advocate fundamental engineering techniques, discipline, and best practices including requirements development, planning and estimation, configuration management, performance testing, and quality assurance
- Coordinate and communicate with clinical analysts, product analysts, and product owners to understand business needs, requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations
- Update job and industry knowledge by studying development tools, programming techniques and participating in educational opportunities such as reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and professional organizations associations
- Provide operational product support and problem resolution through root cause analysis and other troubleshooting techniques
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and five (5) years of software development/business intelligence/database management
- High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) and ten (10) years of experience in software development/business intelligence/database management
- Three (3) years of experience working with SQL to construct complex queries for technical analysis and validation
- Three (3) years of direct hands-on experience working with Business Intelligence, Analytics or Operational Reporting software products
- Three (3) years of direct hands-on experience working with database technologies such as Postgres, MongoDB, SQL Server and/or Oracle
- Three (3) years of experience developing and managing data pipelines, ETL routines and data quality routines
- First-hand knowledge of BI tools, features and functionality e.g., Jaspersoft, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau or Business Objects
- Two (2) years of software development experience with some combination of Python, Java, JSON, C#, XML
- Two (2) years of experience developing and deploying Cloud-based solutions preferably within AWS
- Understanding of data engineering solutions including ETL development, data streaming, data integration and analytics using technologies such as Talend, Apache NiFi, Apache Airflow or Kafka MSK
- Experience working with deployment pipelines using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Flyway and/or AWS Cloud Formation
- Proficiency with software configuration management concepts (source control, build automation, e.g., GIT, Jenkins)
- Proficiency working with AWS services and components such as RDS, EC2, S3, Kafka MSK, Lambda, Athena, Amazon Linux
- Experience working with healthcare data
- Experience with statistical reporting and analysis
- Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence
- Ability to work independently and with minimum oversight
