Primary Function
Provides support in all Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHSS) functions and coordinates plant wide safety and environmental efforts and compliance. Responsibilities may include but not limited to EHSS specific projects, program implementation, audits, training, compliance, risk assessments, worker’s compensation, and EHSS systems administration.
Responsibilities
- Under the guidance of the Director of EHSS; develop, coordinate, and maintain EHSS projects and tasks related to Corporate Safety and Environmental programs.
- Work with Director of Environmental Health, Safety and Security to integrate existing and new locations into Corporate EHSS programs, including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Work with plant leadership and local EHSS representative to execute and engage plant employees in Corporate EHSS programs and processes, including training, compliance, security standards and mitigating critical risks.
- Aid facilities with regulatory and corporate policy compliance.
- Create reports using corporate data to identify EHSS trends across and within locations and prepare process improvement recommendations for Director of Environmental, Health, Safety and Security.
- Conduct risk assessments and plant safety inspections at US locations
- Audit ISO Process and EHSS regulation compliance at US locations
- Manage and be point of contact for EHSS systems companywide
- Work with Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability council to create reports for the annual CRS corporate report.
- Review and annually update the corporate ISO documents in EHSS management system.
- Prepare and maintain annual EHSS corporate award scorecards.
- Manage Emergency Communication Response Plan administration to ensure compliance across locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field, equivalent certification and experience will also be considered
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in EHS
- Demonstrated understanding of safety and environmental requirements at the federal, state, and local requirements (EPA, OSHA, etc.)
- Position requires up to 25% travel, must be able and willing to travel
- This role is eligible to participate in our remote work program, which allows employees to work remotely up to two days per week. New employees in eligible roles can apply for this program after successfully completing their initial 90 days of employment.
Additional Qualifications:
- EHS Certification, ISO 14001, and/or OSHA 30 Hour Compliance Course a plus
- Proven proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Familiarity with Tableau or other similar visualization tools preferred, but not required
- Ability to prepare presentations and utilize effective training techniques
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment, a plus
- Must be able to work flexible hours to support 24/7 operations
- Ability to apply, lead, and implement programs to ensure compliance
- Ability to work with confidential information
- Strong communication skills to both listen and communicate, both orally and written, to all levels of the organization
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
