This is a Data Scientist- P&P Digital role, reporting to the Engineering Manager in Business Area – India Operations Centre, Process Automation (INOPC PA) based in Bangalore, India. As a data scientist, you will understand the use cases and key business requirements for data driven solutions in cooperation with ABB’s business divisions and end customers. You will join a group of high-achieving engineers to lead and develop cutting edge industrial control applications for the pulp and paper industry. Collaborating with teams in Singapore, Ireland, Sweden, Finland and USA, the breadth of technologies and control strategies employed is broad. We are looking for someone who is technically very strong but also with an interest in leading/managing local and remote teams. The successful candidate will have a desire to work in a global, dynamic and challenging environment and will be highly rewarded from both a career and remuneration perspective.
Your responsibilities
- Investigate and evaluate efficient system architectures, machine-learning algorithms and software engineering approaches for computation in cloud, on-premise or virtual environment for specific industrial applications requiring process automation and data analytic such as anomaly detection.
- Perform data exploration, pre-processing, analysis and evaluation.
- Explore and visualize the data to gain an understanding of it and then identifying differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world.
- Provide support for pilot evaluation of analytics solution, technology evaluation and implementation of solution in pulp and paper industry.
Your background
- Bachelors or master’s degree from a reputed University in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Data Science or Information Science.
- Should have 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in usage of Data Analytics and Machine learning libraries for monitoring, diagnosis and predictive maintenance and relevant data visualization tools.
- Should have proficiency in R and Python. Exposure to C#, .NetCore is added advantage
- Have good knowledge and exposure to DevOps processes (CI/CD), dockers and containers
- Good knowledge of Statistical Analysis, Machine learning (Supervised and Unsupervised learning techniques), Deep Learning, Model Optimization, Time-series analysis etc.
- Excellent communication skill is added advantage.
