The ideal candidate would have excellent analytical abilities, strong technical skills, superior written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams. Work closely with Customer Support teams and the broader BI community.
- 6+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology, or experience in analytics, business analysis or comparable consumer analytics solutions.
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or related discipline.
- Good knowledge of SQL, Linux, Oracle and OLAP.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
- Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools. (OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes, etc.)
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- Experience with AWS technologies stack including Redshift, RDS, S3, EMR or similar solutions build around Hive/Spark etc

The Amazon Customer Support Platform processes thousands of transactions every day across multiple countries and languages. The Amazon CS BI team stands squarely in the intersection of these systems, helping Amazon and its partners understand what the business did yesterday and influencing where it is going tomorrow. It delivers business intelligence to over hundreds of diverse community of internal customers from one of the worldโs largest and most complex data sets.
We are looking for an exceptional Data Engineer who is passionate about data and the insights that large amounts of data sets can provide. The ideal candidate will possess both a data engineering background and a strong business acumen that enables him/her to think strategically. He/she will experience a wide range of problem solving situations requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis. The successful candidate will work in lock-step with Data scientists, Business analysts, Product Managers and other stakeholders across organization. He/she will:
Responsibilities – Develop and improve the current data architecture, data quality ,monitoring and data availability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement advanced analytics algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for statistical analysis, prediction, clustering and machine learning
- Partner with BAs across teams to build and verify hypothesis to improve the AWS Support business.
- Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, simplifying self-service support for customers
- Keep up to date with advances in big data technologies and run pilots to design the data architecture to scale with the increased data sets of customer experience on AWS.
- Knowledge of a programming or scripting language (Python, Perl, or Javascript)
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
- An ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired and ambiguity is the norm.
- Experience designing and operating very large Data Warehouses.
- Strong data modelling skills.
- Familiarity with statistical models and data mining algorithms
- Solid communication skills and team player.
- Proven track record of successful communication of data infrastructure, data models, and data engineering solutions through written communication, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- Track record for quickly learning new technologies
- Solid experience in at least one reporting Tool, preferably Tableau
- Excellent communication skills.
