Job Location: Bangalore
The Business Intelligence Team Lead assists programs in driving strategy, communicating team goals, motivating team members, and performance management. This role is responsible for ensuring the BI Advisors produce consistent, accurate and efficient transactional, adhoc, and customer-specific reporting. The Business Intelligence Team Leads works with Business Intelligence Consultants and Advisors to managethe reporting catalog and ad hoc requests for assigned clients. This role will ensure the use and analysis of reports/dashboards are in line with Pontoon Standards and meet the requirements received by requestor.Direct interface with client stakeholders will be required including presentations to prospect and existing client programs. Ensures SOP’s and reporting/analytics suite is followed and maintained for clients.Knowledgeable and capable of building VMS/ATS reports. Will work with the Analytics team to translate product and warehouse requirements for needed analysis. This role is also a superuser and champion of Pontoon’s Business Intelligence tools used by the team and can provide coaching and support to others
What you’ll be doing
Responds to requests, determine business objectives, and follows guidelines for translating to data needs, and provide reports, charts, and insights via BI tools.
- Advises on the data and metrics needed to meet business requirements .
- Interprets data using exploratory data analysis and descriptive statistics.
•Responds to ad hoc report requests b y first understanding business objectives. •Communicates insightful account of analytic findings in cluding trends to internal and external customers.
- Ensures data is delivered with a high level of integrity and consistency.
- Provides feedback / suggestions for improved data governance, business rules, practices, etc.
- Assists in defining actionable metrics, develops recommendations, and identifies process improvement opportunities.
- Performs user acceptance testing of dashboards and other deliverables.
•Analyzes KPI’s, ensuring metrics provide a clear picture of overall program performance as well as measuring against contractual service level agreements (SLAs). •Acts as mentor and/or trainer to BI Advisors.
- Management of staff includes, but is not limited to, activities such as interviewing and selection of employees, department/team engagement and development.
- Responsible for creating an equitable work environment when setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in status.
- Accomplishes department objectives by managing, planning, and evaluating staff activities.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
About you
Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, engineering, finance, economics or related field. MBA desirable but not required.
- Prior experience mentoring, training team members, or leading teams.
- Minimum four ( 4) years of reporting/analyt ic s experience.
- Minimum five (5) years of Excel use with proficiency in sorting and merging data sets, vlookup formulas, pivot tables and running macros.
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Business Objects, Domo, Tableau, Cognos, or equivalent strongly desired.
•Experience with VMS tools, such as Fieldglass, Beeline, and/or ATS tools, such as BrassRing, PeopleFluent, Avature, Taleo, or SuccessFactors, strongly desired but not required. •Prior RPO/MSP/Staffing experience preferred.
- Given role will support global programs; working hours will accommodate multiple time zones will be necessary.
- Ability to diagnose potential root causes using data, combined with business knowledge.
- Ability to extract and transform data from BI tools and source systems in order to meet reporting and analytics requests.
