The Construction Management operating group of AECOM is looking for a Strategy and Sustainability Analyst to support the Strategy team. This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules with an expectation to go into an AECOM office periodically and can be based out of New York City, Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN or Phoenix, AZ.
The role will help drive the development, implementation, and communication of initiatives and deliverables for our Strategy team. The Strategy team is responsible for planning and execution of strategic initiatives, market research, and special projects management to meet organizational objectives; working closely with leadership, operations, and other functional support teams to define and evaluate strategies and investment decisions, reflecting market, competitive, and other external drivers. The Strategy team is also leading the implementation of AECOM’s Sustainable Legacies commitments for Construction Management.

Key responsibilities include:
- Support Strategy team and other key, diverse functions (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Operations) in preparing impactful qualitative and quantitative deliverables for internal and external audiences
- Conduct market research and analysis to prepare reports to support strategic initiatives and executive level communications; Develop meaningful insights and make informed recommendations that will influence management decisions
- Research macroeconomic fundamentals, geographic trends, construction forecasts, industry drivers, etc., to support the development of strategic initiatives and other materials
- Support development of sustainability performance metrics and implementation of state-of-the-art carbon emissions reduction strategies
- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) and successfully navigate a large organization, coordinating with internal departments and regions, as well as outside of Construction Management within AECOM to collect and analyze data for reporting, collaborate for strategic initiative development and implementation, and help facilitate strategic alliances.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Business, Marketing or related field + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical skills: MS Office – PowerPoint/Word/Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and Power BI is preferred but not necessary
- Experience: Prior experience in consulting, market research, strategic planning, financial planning & analysis, or a large AEC (architecture, engineering & construction) firm is a plus
- Leadership: Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities is ideal
- Analysis: Strong commitment to detail and a high comfort level with both quantitative and qualitative analysis. Experience and familiarity with carbon accounting and reduction strategies in construction is a plus
- Creative: Comfortable with creating, preparing, and editing (PowerPoint) presentations and on-screen presentations for C-level executives and various business units; Build information graphics, charts, graphs and prepare written documents; Comfortable working through poorly defined problems and arriving at potential solutions in a timely manner
- Communication: Aptitude for articulating complex, highly technical detail in a simple, succinct manner; Superior editing and proofreading abilities
- Quality: Understands, implements, and strictly adheres to the quality standards and procedures established by AECOM, including creative standards and guidelines; Provide quality assurance of all deliverables and manage creative responsibilities of assigned projects
