Job Description
Responsible for analysis and evaluation of user business problems and development of business system or process recommendations to meet requirements, including problem definition, evaluation of requirements, and implementation of systems/processes.
May participate in business systems planning to define or upgrade business applications or functional solutions. May serve as business liaison to IT.
This role may involve a significant amount of project management. Project management responsibilities include managing internal non-technical business projects from initiation through completion. Leads project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, issue resolution and delivery of results. Interprets requirements, identifies project scope, plans and directs schedules, monitors project budgets, assigns tasks and tracks performance and milestone achievement Recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments, resource additions or scope changes.
Ensures effective communication across teams/functions. Keeps management informed of progress, key issues and changes which may impact the business. Requires people and resource management through others, and may include leading third party resources.
Works on business system/process assignments with broadly defined objectives
Solves straight-forward issues, challenges and problems within system/process of specialization
Qualifications
Description
- Uses data to develop analytics for complex business problems that provide insight to business decision-makers.
- Provides consultation to customers and leads cross-functional teams to understand business issues and analysis needs, develop technical requirements for reports and analysis, and outline potential data analysis solutions.
- Identifies internal and/or external data sources and required/available data elements, partners with internal/external resources to capture data and develop dashboards and analytics using a Business Intelligence reporting tool or data visualization program
Performs analysis of structured/unstructured datasets to develop metrics, and uses coding skills (SQL, VBA, Python) and data visualization programs (Spotfire, Power BI) to create reports, dashboards, and other displays of trends and patterns.- Delivers presentations that aid in the understanding and interpretation of findings from completed analysis
- May construct forecasts and make recommendations or assist in the development of strategic/tactical plans based on results of the analysis and knowledge of the business
May use current Business Intelligence technologies such as Spotfire, Power BI, SQL and VBA- Responsible for data analysis and interpretation using statistical techniques. Experience with Six Sigma and statistics preferred; Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an asset
- B-Tech/M-Tech/MCA with 2 years of post qualification experience
