Job Location: Gurgaon/Gurugram
- Overall responsibility for quantitative and statistical analysis in relation to OakNorth Bank’s financial planning (both in relation to the loan book and the deposit book)
- Given OakNorth’s loan profile, a focus on understanding behavioural trends will be key
- Will be responsible for applying existing frameworks from a standing start but to also develop the frameworks and incorporate our ever-expanding data set as the business continues to grow
- Will work in close collaboration with the Corporate Finance team as well as other key teams within Finance
- The output from the quantitative/statistical analysis will form a critical part of OakNorth Bank’s Asset Liability Management (‘ALM’) and will be a key data source for Asset-Liability Committee (‘ALCO’); to this end awareness of behavioural drivers (e.g. interest rates) will be key
- Output will also feed into business-as-usual and strategic decision-making
Desired Skills
- Master’s degree in engineering / economics / commerce / statistics / mathematics or other quantitative domains: PhD, MSc, MTech highly desirable
- Able to develop and interpret analytical frameworks based on our loan and deposit book with a particular focus on behavioural trends
- Exposure to credit risk analytics / financial services analytics will have a preference
- Exposure to accountancy and ability to link PL results to economic accounting drivers will have a preference
- Ability to both use existing frameworks from a standing start but to also develop both the frameworks and incorporate our ever-expanding data set will also be fundamental to the role
- Ability to work with GL systems (Netsuite), Data warehouses etc. to automate reports
- Experience in developing predictive models (e.g. linear/non-linear regression, decision trees etc.) along with expert level proficiency in SAS/R/Python as well as database querying tools (e.g. SQL).
- Expert knowledge of advance Tableau, Power BI and similar reporting tools
- Personal drive (proactive), flexible, creative (thinks out of the box), result driven, responsible, curious team player and fast learner
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Ability to succeed in a culture where change and speed are part of daily work
- Has an eye for details and ability to connect the dots while preparing statistical and financial analysis
