The Sr. Business Operations Analyst is responsible for providing business and operation support for Vice President of Distribution & Logistics. The Sr. Business Operations Analyst will also assist Airgas Merchant Gases Management and Field personnel with Power BI dashboard creation and analysis, business process improvement opportunities, cost savings opportunity identification and support, project management and ad hoc analyzesanalyses to benefit the business. This will require a seasoned professional that has exceptional analytical skills, and the capability to take “big data” from multiple sources and create a picture to drive performance improvement. This position is located in Houston, TX.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Audit and analyze data produced by the field production, distribution, sales, and other operation functions in the SAP and ALTO systems.
  • Develop and use various business reports and metrics to evaluate, interpret, and provide critical information in support of strategic and operating decisions, looking for opportunities to streamline processes and introduce efficiencies while maintaining key controls.
  • Work closely with the Distribution & Logistics leadership team and other Business Analysts to support field personnel to understand system inputs, processes, and trends; modify, document and train employees on proper processes in the SAP system.
  • Assist in acquisition due diligence and integration as needed.
  • Creation and maintenance of business intelligence platform (Power BI) to provide bottom-up visibility to operating, safety and financial performance.
  • Assist with field audit activities regarding internal controls, SOP compliance and SOX compliance, as needed.
  • Collaborate across the entire Airgas organization (i.e. Divisions/Regions) and in particular with the other Divisional Business Process Improvement Teams
  • Work with the BSC to educate finance teams on field operations, controls and SOPs
  • As needed, participate with order to cash investigations, collaborating with other teams to determine if any process changes are needed to expedite the resolution of customer account problems, and review changes to initiate improvement opportunities throughout the organization
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment.
  • This position must be able to build effective relationships with all levels and roles in the organization.
  • To be successful, the Sr. Business Operations Analyst should possess exceptionally strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage a wide variety of data and related computer tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate the leadership skills required to drive continuous improvement of processes.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, supply chain or in a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in business process analysis in positions of increasing responsibility.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience a plus.
  • Strong familiarity with business intelligence tool creation, management and administration. Preferably Power BI.

– Advanced working knowledge/usage of MS Word and Excel – experience with SAP and Business Explorer required.

  • Ability to learn Google Platform (Email, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms)
  • Experience in working with different departments and cross-functional teams, including people development skills and leadership qualities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and juggle between upper and local management and demands.

TRAVEL

  • Up to 25%. Short periods of up to 50% can be required.
