National Buying Services is the department dedicated to acquiring the goods that our ALDI customers count on. Beyond working to secure quality products at the lowest possible prices through our Buying and support teams (Administration, Pricing, Merchandising, Quality Assurance and more), our teams ensure we are providing the best value and quality in everything we do.

In this role the Senior Analyst will be responsible for business-critical, strategic decision making, working with inventory, markdowns, and space evaluations. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working with advanced data analytics software and inventory or price change management and have an educational background in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or relative field.

This role is eligible to participate in ALDI’s Hybrid Work Program, which allows remote work up to 3 days per week (i.e., work remotely up to 3 days per week; work in-office at least 2 days per week).


Duties and Responsibilities:


Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Leads research efforts to analyze market level data, including planning, forecasting and providing recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and interprets internal company data and communicates results in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leverages data analytics tools to organize, summarize, and visualize data into meaningful insights that drive company initiatives and decision making.

• Analyzes primary and secondary data, providing regular updates on internal metrics (KPIs).• Understands the overarching company strategy, as well as communicates and models the core values of the organization, to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.

  • Pulls raw data reports and develops recommendations based off the findings.
  • Approves time-off requests for direct reports.
  • Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to their direct reports to assure mutual understanding and desired results.
  • Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist their direct reports in achieving enhanced performance.
  • Evaluates work performance of direct report by completing annual reviews, motivating behavior changes while necessary.
  • Advises on any changes or actions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
  • Liaises with external service providers as required and directed by their direct leader.
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders including National Buying Services teams, National Information Technology, and Divisional personnel as directed by their direct leader.
  • Acts as an internal consultant to National Buying and the larger organization.
  • Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility.
  • Provides input to their direct leader on hiring for positions reporting to them.
  • Informs management of major team milestones, developments, and concerns.
  • Serves as the technical support leader for the department.
  • Leads team projects in collaboration with the National Buying department.
  • Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to leadership.
  • Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility.
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of their team, escalating issues to the appropriate level of support and/or leadership when necessary.
  • Assures direct reports complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner to provide the highest level of customer service for the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Inventory Management, Business, or Analytics required.
  • Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience in KPIs, qualitative research, quantitative research, data science, insights, and/or business intelligence tools such as Tableau required.


Physical Requirements:

  • Work is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone and other office equipment are used as needed to perform duties.
  • Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand and move from one area to another.
  • Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
  • Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift and move up to 25 lbs.


Travel:

  • Local travel required.
  • Up to 10%.
