The Opportunity
Ally announced the acquisition of Fair Square Financial, a digital-first credit card provider, in October of 2021. Ally Credit Card is a team that has combined the experience of seasoned talent from across the card industry with advanced analytical and machine learning techniques to develop and optimize our business. Our integrated and entrepreneurial team built the business up from scratch in 2016 to 1MM plus customers, with significant growth opportunities in the future. This is your opportunity to join our diverse and innovative Ally Credit Card team as we focus on growing the business and delivering compelling products that focus on doing the right thing for our customers.
You will be a lead analyst driving risk-mitigating strategies, optimizing costs, developing robust monitoring, and enhancing and executing operational processes. You’ll develop collection strategies (e.g. how long after a customer misses a payment should we email, text, or call and what should that message be). You will help perform and automate an operational process with executive-level visibility (i.e. monthly asset sales). In summary, you’ll apply strategic and analytical thinking to solve complex problems. We’re looking for talented individuals with strong analytical skills who are interested in developing as general managers of their area of the business.
The Work Itself
- Strategy & Analytics: distill findings from tests and strategies into actionable recommendations to reduce credit losses and costs
- Product Management & Strategy: optimize the digital experience and customer journey in delinquency
- Process Ownership & Relationship Management: own and enhance operational processes (e.g. asset sales) and third party relationships
The Skills You Bring
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with 2+ years of analytical experience (or Master’s with 1+ years) in a high-impact role using data to make decisions
- High degree of expertise with SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint
- The candidate must be extremely comfortable working hands-on with large analytical datasets to perform complex analysis and extract business insights
- Demonstrated ability to learn rapidly and solve problems dynamically
- Self-starter; comfortable with ambiguity and open-ended problems
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- High degree of initiative with a strong drive for results
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Services or Consulting or Corporate Strategy
- Within Financial Services, experience in Collections strategy
- Expertise with Python, Power BI / Tableau, or other data analysis tools
