POSITION SUMMARY

Alterra Mountain Company is looking for a BI Analyst to support the strategic use of data emanating from enterprise applications (Microsoft Dynamics 365, OneStream, Workday). This role will work directly with the Enterprise Applications Manager to realize solutions to the various business requirements given. Having a creative mindset and a passion for data visualization is key for this role, as well as having solid interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication of potentially complex topics with fellow team members and end-users.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES


General Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, build and test data visualization solutions (BI dashboards and report) that will enable the company to make better, more informed business decisions.

  • Perform ad-hoc data analyses to provide answers to business questions.

  • Collaborate with source system experts, vendors, and other team members to determine data extraction, transformation, analytics requirements.

  • Breakdown raw information and undefined problems into actionable components that in order identifies clearly the problem the end user is trying to solve.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage impactful data visualization using the existing enterprise applications.

  • Work with your team, and end-users, to develop a BI roadmap.

  • Promote the use of data and BI tools within the company. Train and support the end-users as needed.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Business Analysis or related field. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3-5 years of data analysis/visualization using Power BI, PowerQuery or Tableau

  • 3 years of experience with MS SQL server, SSIS, SSRS, and normalized and dimensional models

  • Experience with data visualization for complex corporate structure desired

  • Business acumen in at least one of those areas: General accounting, AP, AR.

  • Experience working successfully with both technical personnel and non-technical customers and staff


KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Analysis and design skills, critical thinking, and analytical problem solving

  • Microsoft Business Intelligence language, specifically TSQL and DAX

  • Must have a good understanding of data relationships and a strong command of SQL syntax

  • Good understanding of data warehousing, data lake and database technologies, standards, and methodologies

  • Report and queries tuning and performance

  • Knowledge of data conversion techniques

  • Experience with cloud based or self-service business intelligence platforms

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Alterra Mtn Co Shared Services Inc.’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Denver area base salary range: $85,000 – $128,000 per year
