About the Role & Team
Amadeus Airline IT is looking for a specialist engineer in Computer Vision / Machine Learning to join the ICM Biometrics team. This team develops distributed software and hardware across multiple airport processes for advanced passenger interaction. This is an excellent opportunity to join this high performance team, developing and deploying products and solutions worldwide. The engineer will form part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for developing software and hardware solutions integrated with various airport processes, including the ICM Auto Bag Drop, Next Generation Kiosk and Smart Biopod systems. The candidate will focus on developing CV and ML algorithms, implement them into production software, and collaborate with the broader team. This opportunity is for a highly motivated candidate who is enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and is constantly challenged to develop innovative solutions to CV/ML problems.
Main Responsibilities
Technical Function
- Computer vision and Deep learning algorithm research and development for 2D- and 3D-based biometrics
- Undertaking international biometric exercises with the intention to develop competitive algorithms
- Conduct analysis and contributes to joint product design efforts.
- Gathering, labelling and managing large training datasets
- Demonstrate initiative in contributing to problem solving, design solutions and team goals.
- Confident in technical skills and demonstrate substantial independence in the technical area.
- Take responsibility for a component of a project or a small project
- Support, work together with Operations team and customer service teams in case of issues, cutovers etc…
Procedural Knowledge
- Ensure deliverables meet the required ICM quality standards.
- Effectively apply the required procedures and methodologies.
Business Knowledge
- Respond to client requests in non-standard situations, investigating all the facts.
- Understand the key business drivers and applies this knowledge to own work.
Skill and Experience Required
- Doctoral level education in computer science or engineering in the field of computer vision / machine learning. Application areas should include signal / image processing.
- High tech product development involving computer vision and machine learning.
- Scripting Languages – Python, C++, Dotnet, Javascript.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer vision and machine learning algorithms applied to image-based data, in particular deep learning algorithms.
- Image processing, with 3D data processing recommended.
- Prototyping software for large-scale data analysis and testing.
- Software development in python, C# or C++ to interface algorithms with production software.
- Experience collaborating with software development teams using version control systems and agile methodologies.
- Experience using data management and data analytics platforms.
- Knowledge with respect to popular machine learning libraries, with TensorFlow and the python data-processing stack highly recommended.
- Utilising various GPU-based training infrastructures.
- Proactivity, strong initiative & autonomy.
