Job summary
The Device, Digital, and Alexa Support – Content Search and Discovery team is looking for an exceptional Business Analyst to drive data analysis and insights to help develop our product strategy. In this role you will leverage your SQL/R/Python skills to construct and implement data pipeline to collect data, clean/organize data to get it ready for analysis and perform structured analysis to glean insights that will identify areas of opportunity. This will directly influence actionable business decisions regarding our products for current business and influence strategies for the launch of new businesses. You should be self-starter who is proficient in SQL, has an extremely high level of customer focus, has a passion for strategy and analysis, and loves mining large and complex datasets. You will focus on instrumenting automation of metrics that measure customer experience and identify emerging trends teams need to focus on, helping us refine products as well as the way we think about improving discoverability. We are focused on your success and want to build strong leaders. You can expect to leverage your data skills and have full ownership of the projects you work on.
Key Responsibilities Include*
* Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards on the key drivers of our business.
* Complete ad hoc data retrieval and analysis by querying relational databases other data management systems.
* Mine insights and use data to tell compelling business stories across topics such as content discovery, information retrieval, content effectiveness, SEO etc.
* Work with Product and Program Managers to setup, run, monitor, and analyze A/B tests.
* Support in feature prioritization by engaging stakeholders in constructive dialogues, simplifying ambiguous business problems into logical problems that can be solved with data.
* Use technical and business acumen to drive higher fidelity business decisions and operational excellence.
* Design, develop, and implement scalable, automated processes for data extraction, processing, and analysis.
* Clearly communicate strategic findings and recommendations to a diverse audience.
* Translate complex, technical concepts into business terms and vice versa and provide innovative solutions to solve cross-functional business problems.
* Work with cross functional groups to combine analytics findings with other data sources to complete a full root cause analysis.
* 3+ years of relevant experience in a business analyst/data analyst/statistical analysis role – Ability to use scripting languages such as Python or R to evaluate data
* Experience building dashboards, reports, or tools through technologies such as QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny or D3
* Understanding of data warehousing, data modeling concepts
* Experience with query optimization
* Experience evaluating data integrity
* Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders
* 3+ years working experience in data mining using SQL, ETL, data warehouse as well as Excel
* Experience working with large data sets
* Excellent writing and critical analytical thinking
* Effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
* Proven problem solving skills with regard to unstructured, uncertain problems
* Project management and execution under hard deadlines
* Ability to dive deep and demonstrate attention to detail
