  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
  • Demonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
  • 3+ years of industry experience in a role requiring application of analytic skills to integrate data into operational/business planning or advanced degree.
  • 3+ years experience on Microsoft Excel as well as data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools (familiarity with Tableau preferred).
  • Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them to the stakeholders and senior management as required.
  • Be self-driven, and show ability to deliver on ambiguous projects with incomplete or dirty data.
  • Knowledge of data management fundamentals and data storage principles.
  • Ability and interest in working in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment.

Job summary

It’s time to leverage big data and machine learning to generate relevant and trustworthy recommendations for billions of shopping journeys through billions of products, and to make it easy and natural for customers to discover those recommendations. We are seeking the industry’s best to help us create new ways to interact, search and shop.

You will work closely with Scientists to develop Machine Learning based models to measure customer experience quality for Alexa enabled voice and touch experiences. You will work with large data sets and leverage data science and statistical techniques to develop develop an automatic error attribution for CX qualify defects. To be successful, you will need to enjoy working with ambiguity, be creative, and have a passion for customer experience.

You will empower data driven decision making through implementing principles of data mining, data modelling and work with cross functional teams for impact estimation and defection attribution. You will be able to extract, integrate and work on critical data to build out data pipelines, automate reports, and dashboards to communicate your findings and leverage self-service tools to internal stakeholders.

You will be the leader of analytics for this organization responsible to provide thought leadership and future vision. This role requires you to be able to influence senior leaders in tech and non-tech. The successful candidate will demonstrate business acumen, experience in developing reporting and analytical infrastructures and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams in a fast paced environment. You should have excellent business and communication skills to collaborate with business owners to draw insights from data to answer questions to key business questions.

Alexa Shopping is a fast growing domain, with millions of active users, high visibility and multiple S-team goals.

The CX Quality Analytics org owns the measurement of how good Alexa understands the customers through sophisticated Machine Learning models.

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
  • Expert in writing and tuning SQL scripts.
  • Experience working in very large data warehouse environments.
  • Extensive experience in a data engineer or BIE role with a technology company
  • Experience conducting large scale data analysis to support business decision making.
  • Experience building/operating highly available, distributed systems of data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets.
  • Experience building data products incrementally and integrating and managing datasets from multiple sources.
  • Coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python).
  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
