Job summary
Providing a scalable platform to support AWS’s expanding business is a complex architectural challenge, and accurate cost and usage information is a critical piece. Enterprise-level customers make large dollar-value decisions based on the timeliness, accuracy, and detail of the data provided by our products.

You will take on architectural challenges in making highly accurate, customizable forecasts available for all types of customers. You will be empowered to think big, invent on behalf of our customers, make judgment calls and find elegant solutions to hard problems. AWS Insights Forecasting is changing fast and this is a dynamic role where you will learn and grow while you contribute to our success.

Key job responsibilities

• Collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of cost management experiences
• Work with extraordinary teams delivering demanding projects.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
• Understand system interdependencies and limitations.
• Share your knowledge of the most effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methods.

A day in the life
On Insights Forecasting, you will spend your day writing and reviewing code, designing new software and architecture, and reading, discussing, and planning for continuous improvements to the customer experience. Our team collaborates with Data Scientists to improve the accuracy and fidelity of our forecasts and to deep dive customer questions. Taking advantage of AWS’s educational programs, tech talks, and mentorship programs is highly encouraged.

• Experience with large scale distributed systems
• Experience and interest in Machine Learning and Data Science concepts
• Experience developing using AWS technologies
• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Passion and eye for delivering high performing systems.
• Strong analytical abilities and design skills.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
