To meet the growing demand for Amazon Web Services, the World-Wide Commercial Sales – Technical Organization is expanding its Business Insights & Analytics (BIA) team. This team is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and delivering insights from data and building tools that will help Solutions Architects and Customer Solutions Managers serve our customers better.

We are seeking a BIA leader who can operate with a startup mentality, and can lead a team of business analysts and/or business intelligence engineers to deliver sound, data-backed insights, identify areas of improvement, and suggest and implement solutions.

The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, excited about data mining and generate insights that will influence the direction the world-wide technical organization. You are responsible to define, own and drive the long-term data strategy. You play a key role in leading the development of reporting solutions and analytic insights used to lead decision making around resource allocation, program effectiveness, productivity analysis and business impact. You support the WW Sales Tech leadership team, and assist the rhythm of the business activities such as Monthly Business Reviews, and other cadenced reporting and metrics.

The successful candidate is an experienced manager with a passion for inventing and simplifying. You are analytical and possess a passion for working with data and developing insights. You empower data driven decision making through implementing principles of data mining, data modelling, and analytical skills to define and measure metrics for evaluating health of the business. You are able to communicate your view and get adhesion from your team, share your plans effectively with business stakeholders. This requires excellent business acumen and communication skills as well as the ability to work with business leaders to develop and define key business questions. The candidate will demonstrate critical analytical thinking, and ability to learn and explore new ways to address the business problems and deliver solutions.

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related field
  • Experience working in large data warehouse environments
  • Experience using AWS analytical services (e.g., Redshift, Data Pipeline, Machine Learning)
  • Experience building self-service reporting solutions using business intelligence or data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, AWS Quicksight)
