Summary:
The Senior Analyst is responsible for developing real-time reports. This position will:
1) review the logic for existing NCDB reports deemed ready for real-time and
2) review prototype reports written in SAS by the statisticians.
The Senior Data Analyst will work in a unit comprised of the Senior Manager of Statistics and Analytics, the Manager Systems Analytics, and the Business Analyst to utilize industry-standard rules-engine software for logical expression writing for real-time reporting and SAS to develop test sets, ad hoc reports, and other queries to the NCDB. The Senior Data Analyst will work with InRule in the DEV environment and conduct unit tests in both irVerify and SAS, promoting real-time report logic to the TEST environment. The Senior Data Analyst will maintain and develop all SAS scripts for both unit and end-to-end systems testing from generated mesh tables. While working in both the DEV and TEST environments, the Senior Data Analyst will document progress with the NCDB Project Manager and technology vendor in preparation for a move to PROD. This position is required to develop user templates of design and functionality to the technology partner. They will execute demonstrated technical approaches while maintaining periodic updates to existing logic. The Senior Data Analyst will work closely with the Statisticians, NCDB IT staff, and Customer service staff, and will contribute to ancillary support documentation.
This exempt position will report to the Manager, Systems Analytics in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.
Required Education and/or Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required. Degrees in Information Services and Technology, Business, Computer Science, or related are preferred.
- At least 7 years of similar technical experience is preferred. An analytical, systems design, and documentation background is required.
- Must have experience with SAS and SQL.
- Experience with full project lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment) is required.
- Familiarity with relational database environments in real-time environments RDBMS is required.
- Experience with rules engine software (InRule) and proficiency in project management methodologies is preferred.
- Experience Working with large data sets, programming, and familiar with clinical healthcare concepts and practices related to data sources and data capture is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
