A Data Analytics Specialist will be responsible to support the Client Analytics Manager within the Products and Technology group at GBT. This role sits within the MI Analytics Team and will be responsible for harnessing our data capabilities to provide advance analytics solutions to clients. The position requires a blend of strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a passion to improve our products and analytical capabilities. This role will be responsible for elevating the standards of how data is currently used to make key business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Perform advanced data analytics, providing consultation and insight from travel data.
- Work with internal business partners on their reporting needs.
- Deliver technical analysis to non-technical users in an understandable manner.
- Makes effective recommendations to product end users regarding which reports best correspond to the client s requirements and needs.
- Coordinates production of Business Intelligence (BI) reviews, presentations, reports and scorecards.
- Set up the globalization of all reporting and establish process to field questions of and for all data to drive improvement.
- Develop solutions that bring critical insights to wide scale of business problems such segmentation, demand forecasting, product design, profit and price analysis etc.
- Management of ongoing standard and ad-hoc reporting to analyze trends.
- Develop strategies processes to drive data consolidation and increase automation.
- Define and develop jointly with clients the global strategy for data analytics our top clients.
Qualifications Include:
- Master s degree or higher in a quantitative field (Math, Economics, Statistics, Finance, Science or Engineering)
- Experience with data extraction, analysis and visualization in complex data environments.
- At least 3-5 years of experience with SQL.
- Experience in machine learning and statistical modeling such as predictive modeling, churn analysis, time series forecasting, text mining, segmentation and cluster analysis.
- Experience with data wrangling, visualization and modelling in R or Python.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI a plus.
- Experience with Alteryx a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in the corporate travel industry, knowledge of travel data concepts- a plus.
- Fast learner with intellectual curiosity and a keen interest in data analytics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong people skills and able to work collaboratively with a distributed and/or remote team.
- Ability to multi task and work against tight deadlines with colleagues across the world.
- Must be results driven, taking the lead with little supervision as well as working closely with fellow team members.
