Who we are looking for:
ASCO’s Information Technology department is looking for a highly motivated Data Science Intern to support the Experience Analytics Team in improving the user experience of ASCO Digital assets (websites, surveys, etc.). This intern will assist in understanding what to recommend, offer, or inform the visitor about while visiting or experiencing the websites.
Internship activities include:
- Create a search term classification model
- Assist the Data Scientist in developing machine learning models
- Utilize graphDB to create a graph based on the organization’s member data
Required qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program or graduate program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong ability to problem-solve
- Exposure to Python is a plus
Duration: 10 weeks during the summer – June 12, 2023, to August 18, 2023. This internship is 37.5 hours per week.
Compensation: This summer internship position is paid. Additionally, ASCO will provide parking or a metro subsidy to the successful candidate.
Location: This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working onsite. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense. If you are not able to work at ASCO HQ, please do not apply.
