What you will be doing

This internship position will work with an IT database and business intelligence technical team. Applicant should have a technical interest in data analytics, database design and business intelligence tooling. This roll is remote, and specific experience is not required , but being a self starter with and ability to learn quickly and be a problem solving innovator is required. The roll will involve learning how to use the IBM Cognos BI tool , working with experienced team members to develop SQL code, creating documentation and testing reports . This internship will involve 1×1 times with the team members learning the application and creating documentation, then working on analyzing , testing and developing reports.

The team is an IT based group supporting company wide distribution operations. We work with the distribution center production system data, and report on what makes the centers run . We consume the data into a data warehouse and share it across the company to improve the way we work. We also support the key reporting applications Qlikview and Cognos.

What your background should look like
Currently enrolled in undergraduate school with an upcoming completion of a bachelor’s degree. Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week while completing degree.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Good project management skills
- Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions
- Must be eager to learn, self-motivated, flexible, accountable and can effectively handle multiple tasks at one time
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook
