Function Description:

With a focus on digitization, innovation, and analytics, the Global Decision Sciences (GDS) team creates central, scalable platforms and customer experiences to help markets across all of these priorities. Charter is to drive scale for the business, and accelerate innovation for both immediate impact as well as long-term transformation of our business. A unique aspect of GDS is the integration of diverse skills across all of its remit. GDS has a very broad range of responsibilities, resulting in a broad range of initiatives around the world. Our team provides a dynamic and rewarding workplace which started in 2012 and is currently co-located in Bangalore and New York and involves dynamic and talented researchers with Ph.D. or Masterโ€™s degree from top tier institutes in India and abroad having research and product development expertise in AI/ML technologies such as โ€“ Algorithms, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Data Science, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Product Management, Cloud Technologies and related technical areas.

Purpose of the Role:

The analyst will work on cutting edge science and technology around Deep Learning, Data Science, NLP and Cloud technologies. The role would involve leading our technical agenda, as well as leading new engagements by forming a wholesome vision around the project. Candidate needs to have in-depth, up-to-date knowledge of ML techniques and should have contributed to applications to NLP in an industrial setting. Knowledges on DevOps and CI/CD pipeline are helpful to develop for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Leveraging deep background of technology stacks and hands-on experience with various technologies and engineering tools
  • Managing capability codebases for NLP workstreams, guiding the Tech handover for mature capabilities
  • Applying AI/ML experience & expertise horizontally in a domain-agnostic manner to solve complex business problems in Advanced NLP space
  • Supporting AI Optimization team as well as wider AskAmex business in using data / analytics to derive business insights and to identify enhancements opportunities.
  • Actively contributing to relevant scientific communities by extending existing ML libraries and frameworks, keep abreast of developments in the fields, publish scholarly articles and patents.
  • Develop a strategy the team will use to reach its goal while Encouraging creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvement.

    • Contribute to the strategy and roadmap of AI/ML Initiatives to help drive most impact

Past Experience โ€“

  • Proven (3+ years) experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer or similar role in solving practical business problems

Academic Background โ€“

  • Bachelors/Masters/PhD in a quantitative field like Computer Science, Operations Research, Statistics etc.

Functional Skills โ€“

  • Algorithms & Data Structures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate

Technical Skills โ€“

  • Excellent coding skills in Python, familiarity with app framework, e.g. Streamlit, is a plus
  • Proficient in ML tools and techniques
  • High proficiency in SQL. Experience with Big Data platforms โ€“ especially Hive, Spark, or YellowBrick โ€“ strongly preferred
  • Hands on experience with Data Visualization.
  • Strong background in Natural Language Processing is a plus
