American Express – Travel & Lifestyle Services Analytics team in DEA has grown significantly in the last few years. It provides significant analytical and reporting support to T&LS stakeholders in US and 23 international markets. The successful candidate will be part of the Enablement team within DEA Analytics team and will be primarily responsible for providing technical solutions to analytical and reporting problems.
Purpose of the Role: American Express – The successful candidates will be part of Digital & Reporting Analytics team within DE&A team and will be primarily responsible for creating and sharing MIS reports with stakeholders and working on digital team’s priority of big data adoption by migrating existing legacy reports and identifying new metrics through cornerstone (Bigdata platform) exploration.
Responsibilities: Digital Reporting and Analytics is a new team within DEA. Candidate will help the team in setting up foundation by closely work with stakeholders and other reporting teams to understand the requirements and create a robust reporting framework using multiple (Disparate) data sources. Candidate will also work in automating existing reports and migrating legacy reports to big data through extensive exploration of cornerstone and setup logics for digital metrics reporting. The successful candidates would bring a mix of skills to carry our more than one type of tasks outlined and may not be dedicated to a specific theme of tasks
Critical Factors to Success:
Strong Communication Skills, Team Player and Ability to navigate through a matrix environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously without close supervision · Proven ability to work with global stakeholders. Ability to handle disparate data sources and combine them to create meaningful summary critical for business. Open to work any shift between 8:30 am to 9:30 pm window (Mostly fixed shifts but should be flexible to meet needs of the Business) . Self-starter with ability to execute with Minimal Direction and strong attention to Detail
Past Experience:
Ideally 3-4 years of hands-on experience in big data to design, develop, and improve new or existing MIS. Managing data from disparate sources.
Academic Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, IT or related field.
Functional Skills/Capabilities: Prior experience with hands on exp in hive and tableau/powerBI to design, develop and improve MIS reports and extensive knowledge of bigdata. Strong Communication Skills, Team Player and Ability to navigate through a matrix environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously without close supervision. Ability to see though a project end to end.
Technical Skills/Capabilities:
A combination of: Strong Hive QL/SQL, Unix/Hadoop, R/SAS/Python. Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI will be an added advantage.
Knowledge of Platforms:
Prior Experience of working on Hadoop, SAS/Python/R, Excel Dashboarding (using VBA). Experience in Visual BI (Tableau/PowerBI) are added advantage
