This is an exciting position in the EDDS โ Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions team in Gurgaon. Team is the business owner of the marketing capabilities / technologies required to expand and deepen relationships with existing customers. Customer Marketing Capabilities is a critical pillar to the success of American Express โ increasing the depth of relationship with our current customers through relevant and rich offers / benefits is a source of organic growth that contributes to American Expressโ leading position in the marketplace.
The candidate would be part of the Product Team for Customer Eligibility Data Layer (CEDL). CEDL is a Big Data based platform that aims at providing data solutions to enterprise-wide marketing teams to enable effective card member marketing offer targeting. Specific activities will include working closely with business and technology partners to define Business requirements, designing process and engaging stakeholders to drive change management.
We are looking for a candidate with proficiency in Hive, Spark and Hadoop along with capability/ product management and project management.
Responsibilities:
- Create, enhance and manage the organized data layer for marketing use cases on Big Data Platform
- Develop understanding of Card member data in marketing processes and leveraging the same to define and transform the data
- Collaborate with partners across business units to understand the business objectives, convert it to data requirements and provide quality solutions that meet partner requirements
- Ensure data quality and accuracy through intensive testing at variable and use case level
- Identify and implement the opportunities to enhance process efficiency through increased standardization and automation, in order to reduce manual effort

Past Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience with excellent knowledge of data management tools and concepts
- Experience with product / capability management and technology implementation
- Experience in Hive, SQL, Python and Spark
Academic Background:
- Bachelorโs degree in Engineering
- Post graduate in Engineering/ Management
Functional Skills:
- Good understanding of payment/financial industry and card member data is a plus
- Experience in AGILE Framework with Product Owner role
- Good Interpersonal skills and Thought-leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
Technical Skills:
- Good understanding of Data management concepts
- Data Matching, profiling and benchmarking across huge datasets
- Data management/ data processing โ Hadoop, Hive, Python, SQL, Spark
- Advanced data manipulation and automation skills
Knowledge of Platforms:

- Big Data – Hadoop
- MS Office Suite โ Excel, PowerPoint, Word
