    Functional Description:

    GCS continues to be a fast-growing business within American Express with the key objectives of accelerating growth, increasing profitability, and enhancing product value propositions to meet client needs. Global Commercial Services is a core operating group of American Express and has delivered robust growth over the past decade. GCS partners with corporate and small business clients to help them manage cash flow and increase profitability through a variety of automated expense management tools.
    Global Insights and Advisory (GIA) is a team within American Express’ Global Commercial Services Group. GIA team exists to enable our commercial clients to make the best use of their payment options. At the intersection of travel and payments, GIA partners with clients to drive efficiency and transparency across procurement and payment processes. We enable our clients to focus on what matters most, with the peace of mind that comes from the backing of American Express.
    Purpose of the Role:
    Architect strategies to structure client’s programs, advice on policies, identify inefficiencies in processes and build client communication strategies to influence employee behaviors and foster change to enable our clients receive the full benefits of a partnership with AXP
    Responsibilities:
    • Partner with functional leaders globally, strategic business partners and senior leaders to assess and provide consulting solutions to fulfill business requirements
    • Ensure flawless and time project delivery for assigned activities and client engagements on benchmarking, preferred supplier programs, process analysis and performance measurement
    • Strong focus on research work to generate fresh ideas to improve the project outcome
    • Create actionable insights from qualitative and quantitative data coming from different sources like American Express data, Travel management data and client supplier data
    • Create user-ready presentations and have the ability to correctly assess the data to connect the dots and present the story in a way that is comprehensible and usable for the client and internal stakeholders
    • Deliver analytical insights or industry perspective from credible research sources to help the leadership team evaluate and drive business performance.
    • Demonstrate and measured results in the area of expertise
    • Develop through iterative prototyping new insights solutions leveraging your data and insights generation expertise, using tools like HIVE, Python, SQL, VBA
    Critical Factors to Success:
    • Ability to ensure timely and proactive project delivery and maintaining high level of alertness to the data and information available for project delivery.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across geographies and time zones.
    • Ability to produce data driven and fact based recommendations for our clients and internal stakeholders.
    • Ability to easily work with large data sets and effectively and produce right format for the analysis and distribution
    Bachelor’s in quantitative field (e.g. Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Mathematics, Operations Research), M.S or MBA
    Past Experience:
    • 3-5 years with relevant work experience
    • Preferred: Strong story boarding and presentation skills to deliver project output in structured power points
    • Experience in Corporate Travel & Entertainment, Corporate Travel Payments, Corporate Travel Sustainability and Expense Management Tools will be a big plus.
    • Extensive experience in insights generation, presentation, and preparing client facing fact pack (info graphs) is needed
    Functional Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong client management skills.
    • A demonstrated ability to work in high-pressure situations with minimal errors.
    • An optimistic and growth mindset with a tremendous will to win.
    • Should be able to function with minimum supervision with high sense of ownership.
    • Should be comfortable with flexible shift timings
    Technical Skills:
    • Must have expertise in Advanced Excel, Access, SQL, Python and Tableau for data extraction, cleansing and manipulation
    • Support creation of thought leadership assets (whitepapers, case studies) using internal and external sources to proactively engage with stakeholders
    • Technical expertise in using Python and SQL
    • Leverage industry trends and insights to identify product and process improvement
    • Preferred: Tableau and other BI solutions
    • Deep dive into Amex network data, perform exploratory analysis that bring forward new insights and compelling content enabling product innovations
