Data Quality Analyst – Molecule Discovery
Amgen is seeking a Data Quality Analyst, who will work on our Research & Development Informatics team and will work with the Director of Research Informatics Engineering.

The ideal candidate would be passionate about data quality, data quality automation, analytics, and enabling the full data lifecycle from collection through linking, sharing and collaboration. Candidate must be a self-starter, extremely customer focused, uncompromisingly detail oriented, and well organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Key Activities for the Data Quality Analyst include:
- Ensure that new systems are collecting Amgen’s data appropriately and accurately, with compliance to data integrity business rules and standardization
- Maintain domain specific data definitions and business rules, codifying them effectively into workflows and systems
- Design and champion data quality automation as part of a product team
- Research, translate, and share data standards that allow Amgen data to be reused and integrated with external data
- Write queries and reports to help reinforce data quality at every stage in the data lifecycle, and define KPIs that radiate critical alignment to standards and areas for improvement
- Work with team members to create useful training material that integrates data quality reports/automation into daily work
- Collaborate with data platform product teams and act as a voice of the customer to help shape roadmap of the platforms
- Define and maintain the Data Privacy & Security standards for the set of data elements under her or his stewardship
- Work with product owner in enhancing current product capabilities and drive continuous improvement
Basic Qualification
Doctorate degree OR
Master’s degree & 2 years of Information Systems experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 4 years of Information Systems experience OR
Associate’s degree & 10 years of Information Systems experience OR
High school diploma/GED & 12 years of Information Systems experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or interest in Agile Product Management Lifecycle and Agile Project Management tool(s)
- Experience working as data or business analyst, in a technology team
- Working knowledge of statistical modeling, data engineering, predictive analytics or data science
- Hands on experience writing SQL using any RDBMS (Redshift, Postgres, MySQL, Teradata, Oracle, etc.)
- Hands on experience using Databricks/Jupyter or similar notebook environment
- Quantitative and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to translate data to meaningful conclusions and recommendations to business clients
- Effective communication of data quality concepts, tools and techniques
- Experience or knowledge of Data Science technologies and Amgen’s Data Science Workbench is a major plus
- Experience or knowledge of Cloud technologies would be a plus
