DATA ANALYST

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Marketing or CFO, depending on qualifications. This is a full-time, onsite position for a data-driven, detail-oriented, and creative professional who enjoys teamwork, communicating with all departments, problem-solving, and the ability to learn quickly.
Responsible for analyzing and interpreting data to inform and optimize marketing and sales efforts and using historical data for financial projections. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Microsoft Access and Excel to assist in the administration of our company database systems. This may include conducting market research to identify trends and insights, analyzing customer data and behavior, and using data visualization tools to present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing website traffic and user behavior to identify trends and insights.
- Contribute to analytic projects as needed to drive actionable results.
- Analyze revenue and cost data to drive business opportunities through revenue growth, cost containment, margin improvements, and positive cash impact.
- Create data visualization dashboards.
- Using data analytics tools to track the effectiveness of marketing efforts and optimize campaigns.
- Drive and measure success against departmental KPIs for customer engagement, acquisition, retention, and personalization initiatives.
- Analyzing the organization’s data requirements and determining the most appropriate way to store and structure the data in an Access database.
- Designing and implementing Access database structures, including tables, queries, forms, and reports.
- Writing and testing SQL queries to extract and analyze data from the Access database.
- Importing and exporting data from various sources into the Access database.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of this role.
- Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices, and continuously seeking out ways to improve digital marketing efforts.
- Ensure consistent content and strategic alignment of campaigns are upheld with the company brand.
- Work in tandem with the Finance, Marketing, and eCom teams on targeting, segmentation, and recommendations based on data.
- Troubleshooting and resolving Access database issues and errors.
- Ensuring the security and integrity of the Access database and resulting output.
- Providing training and support to users of the Access database system.
- Performing regular maintenance and updates to the Access database system.
- Generating reports and visualizations using Access to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Competencies
The Database Analyst should have strong analytical skills and be able to think logically and critically. They should also have a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL and Access database systems, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills. In summary, the candidate should have experience working with Microsoft Access and Excel and be proficient in its various features and functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, information systems, statistics, or a related field or equivalent combination of work experience.
- Strong business understanding, revenue, and cost drivers.
- Fundamental knowledge of digital marketing across social, display, and programmatic platforms.
- Experience with analytical reporting tools, including Tableau, Google Analytics, and Data Studio.
- Expert in Microsoft ACCESS, Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to communicate concisely, clearly, and timely.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize the workload.
- Courteous, patient, and works well with multiple departments.
