SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are looking for a strong Qlik Developer with 6+ years of IT experience and having at least 4+ years of development experience in Qlikview/sense who can design, develop, manage and support Qlik apps required for providing on-demand analytics to various business departments. This role will be part of the growing BI and analytics team and will report to Senior Manager – BI. This role will also work very closely with data engineering, ERP and other IT teams to develop analytics, data visualizations and apps using Qlik technologies. This role is expected to work during US business hours and at least till 3:00 P.M. US Eastern Time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the analysis, design, development and testing of Qlik applications to translate business requirements into optimal BI solutions.
- Responsible for performing all tasks required for the enhancement, support and maintenance of existing Qlik Applications.
- Responsible for Data Modeling, backend scripting, data loads and Dashboards/Reports development/configuration.
- Will be involved extensively in the development, customization and integration of QlikView applications.
- Responsible for analysis and resolution of QV Production Application issues w.r.t data, access or functionality.
- Responsible for creating detailed design documents.
- Responsible for ensuring that the developed QV solution is complete, accurate and meets user requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring proper unit testing is performed before releasing for UAT.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Strong experience in building data visualization solutions using QlikView/Sense to support advanced business analytics.
- Strong experience in end-to-end Qlik Application implementation: Requirement analysis, Architecture, Data modeling, Design, Development, QV data loads, Testing, Deployment and support of QlikView applications.
- Experience working with QlikView 11 & 12.
- Good experience in the design and data modeling of Qlik applications involving complex multiple data sources.
- Experience in developing Qlik applications with ETL data loads from heterogeneous sources including various ERPs, Datawarehouse, Flat files, QVDs etc.
- Should have strong experience in QV backend scripting.
- Good experience in developing optimal dashboards and reports for complex Business Reporting requirements taking advantage of advanced Qlikfunctions and expressions.
- Experience in scheduling Qlik data loads and in optimizing the performance of Qlik applications.
- Must have experience of at least 2 complete Qlik implementation projects.
KNOWLEGE AND SKILLS
- Should have strong knowledge and good understanding of QlikView Architecture, Data Modeling, ETL workflows, Backend QV Scripting, QV data loads and frontend.
- Good knowledge of end-to-end QV implementation and should have good understanding of task/processes to translate and implement business requirements into optimal BI solutions.
- Good knowledge on how to fix QV application development bugs or to resolve Production support data issues.
- Good understanding of the Data warehouse life cycle from source systems/data sources to ETL to transformations to data model to Reporting.
- Understanding of Qlik Server Architecture, Access Controls, mechanisms for implementing Data level security.
- Ability to tune data loads and QlikView application for efficient performance.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases and Dimensional Modeling.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience working with PowerBI will be added advantage but not required.
- Experience working in Finance/Sales/Supply Chain/Manufacturing Reporting modules will be added advantage but not required.
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in technology or related field.
