The Director, Data-Science and Analytics is responsible for delivering data-driven decision making & self-serve analytics to optimize and support the GTM Strategy and Operations. The Data-Science and Analytics team builds and manages data platforms and dataflows, manages data and measurement governance, builds Machine Learning (ML) models, builds, and manages support-critical data tooling, and provides both core and business-specific analytics resources and guidance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build end to end data science solutions/products and embed usage into the business
  • Translate analytics insights into recommendations that are clearly linked to the organization’s strategy and goals
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities within the commercial business for Data Science to drive exponential value as well as ensure sharing and implementation of the best data science methodologies and processes across markets and functional areas
  • Leading multiple high-impact, end-to-end data science projects
  • Promoting the benefits, use cases, and impact of machine learning and AI both internally to senior leadership and externally to our clients
  • Expanding and upskilling our data science team, including recruiting top talent, onboarding new team members, and advancing existing team members’ capabilities
  • Utilizing your expertise in machine learning and AI to develop innovative use cases that support our GTM, marketing, and sales strategies
  • Driving business development by serving as the data science expert on highly innovative and analytical project opportunities
  • Swapping insights on the latest data trends in engaging team discussions
  • Putting your attention to detail to good use by conducting research and observing changes in the advanced analytics market

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, or related quantitative field with 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, analytics operations at scale, information technology, partner operations, finance, business planning, and/or equivalent experience OR Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years’ experience in analytics operations, information technology
  • 5+ years’ people management experience, including managing technology managers, vendors, and partners
  • Industry certifications/certificates in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
  • Demonstrated team management, project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create effective relationships, listen, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work through ambiguous situations with a can-do attitude and proactively determine creative solutions.
  • As an expert communicator, you are able to simplify complex technical topics and convey them clearly to senior business executives
  • Curiosity, openness to learning new technologies and strategies, and the ability to stay up to date with trends define your personality
  • Experience with machine learning technology, such as: big data stack, Python, R, and visualization techniques
  • In a programming language of your choice (e.g., Python, R), you can demonstrate your skills in modeling
  • Your proficiency in selecting and applying AL and ML methods such as Random Forest, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, etc., sets you apart

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Masters or Ph.D. preferred
  • Demonstrated hypothesis-driven,problem-solving orientation with ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative analyses to drive decision making.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner.
  • Have a strong background in leading people with the ability to inspire confidence in senior leaders and motivate his/her global team.
  • Exceptionally strong personal initiative, good business instincts, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Deep understanding of analytics and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (often including project management of cross-functional v-teams).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization
  • Domain expertise in Go-to-Market, Sales Strategy and/or Marketing
  • An industry specialization in Software, High-Tech and/or B2B businesses
  • Experience leading and/or managing global teams
  • Large-scale deep learning model experience and training
