Summary / Role Purpose
The Meshing Development Unit (MDU) is seeking an experienced R&D engineer fordevelopingpre and post processing software infrastructure.The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for exposing meshing algorithms in various environments like desktop, cloud and web.Experience in optimizing algorithms and application development would be a plus.This developer can expect to be engaged in all stages of code and capability planning, research, creation and evolution, and to work closely with other members of the meshing software development team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, create,review,maintain and extendpre and post processing capabilities.
- Work efficiently inacomplex mixed language codebase, written inPython,C/C++,on Windowsand Linux.
- Improve speed and memory performanceofsoftwarefor generatingand managinglarge scalemeshes oncomplexreal-worldgeometries.
- Participate in and collaborate with other development, documentation,and testing professionals in all phases ofthesoftware development life cycle.
- Coordinate with andassistother product creation teamsandcustomer support representativesinvolved inmeshing large,complex geometries.
Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
- Bachelor’sdegree in Computer Science,Engineering,orMathematics.
- 3 years of commercial software developmentexperience.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Keen interest in programming and algorithm development.
Preferred Qualifications and SkillsN
- Experience ininterprocesscommunication development, client/server development, MPI etc. is a plus
- Experience inhigh performance computing, multi-threaded, distributed parallel andGPUcomputationis an asset.
- Experience in large data handling, storage, retrieval and processing would be a plus
- Ability to function in a team environment.
- Self-motivating, taking initiative to resolve issues and working with a sense of urgency.
- Mesh generation, computational geometry, and/or computer graphics algorithm development experience is a plus
