Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Requirements Analysis
- Analyze business processes and procedures and document requirements by working with business users.
- Document requirements through written specifications.
- Perform user interviews and employ other data gathering techniques.
- Perform impact analysis and ascertain impact of any proposed changes on existing systems and new systems to be built.
- Suggest creative options for business solution and educate users on capabilities and use of current technology.

Systems Design
- Design needed programs including files and database structures based on the business requirements.
- Design user interfaces (input and output) to computer systems.
- Document design solutions through technical design specifications and process flow diagrams.
- Design and test system prototypes, review and present proposed system solutions for approval.
- Design application security specifications using OWASP standards.
- Follow change management processes to resolve application defects or to implement enhancements.
- Serve as a source of system design technical advice to less experienced staff.

Development and Implementation
- Develop/code needed applications and programs based on the technical design specifications, using primarily Oracle Forms, PL/SQL technologies, JavaScript, XML, EDI
- Work with team members to develop program units that integrate seamlessly into the overall system.
- Ensure delivered code is developed and in compliance with IT standards by following established best coding practices, productivity, quality, and guidelines.
- Use structured coding methodology and “code once use many times” methodology so that the developed code is reusable.
- Perform code reviews/walk-throughs and unit testing of code developed by contract or new developers.
- Serve as a source of programming technical advice.

Technical Support and Other
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues under tight deadlines and Service Level Agreements
- Provide after-hours technical production support to meet application service level agreements on rotational basis.
- Identify work process improvements and take ownership of resolution to prevent the recurrence of solution issues.

- Identify work process improvements and collaborate with staff to research and implement as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
