IT Business Analyst IV

Responsibilities

Bridge the gap between information technology (IT) and stakeholdrs from business and/or scientific research groups

Identify opportunities for future enhancements and modifications in the form of requirements, business cases and/or agile user stories

Collaborate with research, business, and/or technical staff to identify and recommend technology solutions

Vendor analysis, develop evaluation and scoring criteria for vendor selection

Work with subject matter experts to develop solution architecture diagrams and process maps

Lead team through detailed system and business process analysis; ensure enhancements and solutions positively contribute to, expand upon, and do not conflict with overarching strategy

Utilize problem-solving methods to identify functional gaps and propose solutions

Author user acceptance test (UAT) scenarios, reviews test plans with team to ensure product will meet acceptance criteria

Collaborate with technology managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create roadmaps and identify potential forward looking opportunities

Product analysis, stakeholder communication, and strategy support

Leverage knowledge of cross functional efforts to foster alignment, identify dependencies, and coordinate milestones within the organization

Business Analyst (BA) deliverables may include but are not limited to the following: business case and associated system and/or functional requirements, end user documentation, traceability matrices, user acceptance test (UAT) requirements, as-is and to-be workflows

As collaborators and partners within CIT, the Product Solutions team has Product Management and Business Analysis responsibilities. The IT Business Analyst plays a key role, with responsibilities that can span business & system analysis, product ownership, and road mapping.

As a key member of the product solutions team, you will work cross functionally. You will collaborate with technology managers, operations and buiness leads, software engineers, vendors, subject matter experts, researchers, and others on a range of efforts which may include – business/functional requirements, product management tasks, stakeholder interviews, process improvement, vendor seleciton, roadmaps, user stories, scope documentation, business logic, product ownership, etc.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of experience as a technology focused business or functional analyst

10+ years of experience in an analyst, technical, or business role in an information technology (IT) environment

Technology related degree or certification from a recognized academic institution and/or directly equivalent IT work experience

Strong writing skills and ability to produce clear and unambiguous documentation

Proficient creating diagrams and process flows in Visio, PowerPoint, or other software

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Experience identifying technology trade-offs in collaboration with technology managers, architecture, and engineering subject matter experts (SMEs)

Experience bridging the gap between technology and business groups

Ability to recognize a path forward, even in ambiguous situations

Experience leading collaborative exercises, has ability to complete work proactively and independently with little direction

Strong initiative, ability to identify optimization opportunities and embrace a continuous improvement mindset

Ability to both lead and be led, teach, and learn from others, and converse with a collaborative and open mind

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with road mapping tools

Experience in an Agile environment

Experience working in an academic research institution and/or with medical research staff

Salary expectations: $125k-$140k

Location: Preferably WA state
