About this role
Arm is the leading designer of the microprocessors that power the world’s mobile devices. Arm’s Machine Learning and Data Science (MLDS) Group in Austin, Texas is striving to enhance Arm’s hardware engineering capabilities. As a member of this group, you will develop end-to-end ML systems that reduce the engineering effort and computing time needed to create Arm’s most advanced products. Our goal is to help human engineers and ML algorithms work seamlessly together, producing results that neither could achieve alone.
What will I do in this role?
- Apply ML and other statistical methods to difficult, non-routine problems involving large, complex, and imbalanced datasets
- Build ML applications from the ground up, communicating with stakeholding engineers and managers to understand their problems and the potential impact of solving them
- Rigorously and critically assess your own work and that of colleagues to help spread ML excellence across Arm
- Present and publish your work outside Arm, as desired and appropriate
- Learn new techniques and bring that knowledge into Arm
What skills, experience and qualifications do I need?
- A master’s or Ph.D. in a quantitative or analytical field; no engineering background is required
- One to three years of research experience working end-to-end on sizable, data-intensive projects
- A solid understanding of machine learning, statistics, and analytics
- Experience using Python for data wrangling, preprocessing, modeling, and other typical MLDS activities
- The ability to communicate complex technical ideas and results clearly and persuasively
