    • Bachelor or master degree in Maths/Statistics/Analytics/Engineering (preferably in computer science) or other equivalent quantitative discipline
    • 7+ years of experience as Business Analyst or business intelligence engineer dealing with large complex data
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL/Python/R, scripting, MS Excel, ETL, AWS Services, joining multiple tables, and using aggregate analytical functions.
    • Expert in data pipelining and extraction using SQL. We expect robust basic foundational skills in SQL extraction.
    • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
    • Experience working effectively with software engineering teams, is able to easily understand the technical language and be able to interact effortlessly with tech teams
    • Strong background in business statistics. Should be able to understand what statistical analysis to apply and comprehend the statistical test results to make decisions
    • Experience in working with at least one data visualization/BI tool (like Tableau, QlickView, OBIEE etc.) with strong understanding of BI technologies and their application including database warehousing and dashboarding.

    As part of Amazon India fresh supply chain analytics team we are seeking for Business Intelligence Engineer who will have opportunities to work as a thought leader and solve complex business problems along with some of best business leaders. This is role is pivotal in bringing some of the industry’s best practices around BI architecture design and drive a roadmap which has large impact on business metrics.     Key job responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • As a BIE you will use large complex data sets to perform analytics, discuss with business stakeholders to understand the problem, correlate business problems with deep data analysis, develop solution, run statistical tests on hypothesis, optimize the queries for optimal performance and build tools to automate the process and eliminate manual interventions. Your primary role will be to identify opportunities to improve operation performance, influence faster business decisions and reduce cost.
    • You will also work as a program manager for your stakeholders, owning end-end deliveries of large analytics initiatives. You will develop roadmaps, align on project priorities and drive them to completion, while working with key stakeholder and mentoring business analysts in your team.
    • This role requires one to be comfortable working from general guidelines, using best judgment to make sound business decision, have a history of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
    • This role requires strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative skills (advance experience in tools like Tableau or similar BI tools, SQL, Python/R etc.), build ETL data pipelines and an ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and justify business decisions.
    • You will be a subject matter expert of best in class technologies within Amazon, you have the ability to map the infrastructure gap between other analytics team and build a roadmap to bridge those gaps. You will understand the intricate details of the supply chain operation process and understand impact at ground level.

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    • You are designer of products and tools required for optimal business performance. You will benchmark with other world wide product development teams and recommend solutions for Fresh.
    • You will be on continuous look out for opportunities to eliminate manual tasks and identify ways to automate them. You will take inputs from your team members, identify opportunities to move to self-service modes, upskill stakeholders/peers/ analysts/senior leadership by conducting training sessions and enabling infrastructure to cater to self-service.

    A day in the life

    As a BIE you will work closely with business stakeholders, program managers, other analytics teams (like analytics team in EU and NA, Amazon core retails analytics team), product managers, software developers and data scientists/engineers to identify areas of improvements, define metrics to be measured, manage programs and drive improvements. This role provides opportunities to influence high impact / high visibility programs within the organization. To perform your daily tasks, one requires high attention to details, proven ability to manage multiple and competing priorities simultaneously. This is a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is expected, a superior and crisp verbal/written communication is primary skill and ambiguity is a norm. Bias for action, customer obsession and ownership are some of key leadership principals this role should strive for.

    This role requires superior analytical skill set, able to quickly address large ambiguous problems and apply data engineering expertise to rapidly solution and deliver. The whole cycle would involve interaction with many teams, supply chain planning, S&OP, topology, last mile, middle mile, warehouse operations, finance, business and software teams. Successful candidates must thrive in fast-paced environments which encourage collaborative and creative problem solving, be able to measure and estimate risks, constructively critique peer research, extract and manipulate data across various data marts.

    • Master’s degree in industrial engineering, logistics, supply chain, or another quantitative field preferred. Bachelor’s degree or experience in computer science or another technical field is highly desired.
    • Strong knowledge of supply chain planning/execution concepts and processes
    • Technical expertise in implementing complex supply chain planning software system (as a technical consultant for software design and/or implementation)
    • Experience communicating with senior management (VP level decision makers) as well as with colleagues from computer science, operations research, and business backgrounds.
    • A Strong individual contributor who can work with minimal direction and oversight
