This position sits in the Data Quality Team within Global Automation and Analytics in Global Business Services based in Cambridge, UK. The role will, however, cover requirements from global teams and may need therefore include ad-hoc requirements for overseas visits.
Our key priorities are to provide Data Quality and Insights reporting across the global systems in AstraZeneca. They will work across our financial processes, working with our customers to define key metrics and accessing the data to productionise metrics reporting
Candidates should have a proven ability to translate business needs into data requirements, and must have strong hands-on experience in the software systems development lifecycle, and managing offshore developments.
The role will work autonomously with limited direct supervision from senior team members. Will provide coaching, task management and designs to teams of developers in Chennai, India and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Typical Accountabilities
- This position will be responsible for working with business process teams to define metrics, data requirements and reporting frequencies. The role will then examine business models and flows of data and produce designs, functional specifications and test plans for new systems in order to meet our internal clients’ needs.
- Manage the process of turning these requirements into automated outputs
- Coordinating the work of business, IT, and external teams to deliver the required results
- Ensuring that work produced by the teams conform to similar methods, designs and standards so that economies of scale can be achieved during the support phase.
- Defining and establishing support mechanisms so that the solution will persist in a reliable manner
- The position may also be required to manage others carrying out similar roles on a contract basis

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential Desirable
- Bachelors Degree in relevant discipline
- Strong background and experience in IT technical analysis, business analysis, software systems engineering and design, preferably using cloud-based systems.
- Ideally candidates will have proven experience of designing and developing data quality reporting processes for finance business teams
- Good interpersonal skills, able to quickly build relationships with customers
- Candidates must have knowledge and experience of working with SAP data
- Software development experience at a team leader level
- Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills
- Masters Degree in Computer Science
- Additional qualifications in a business area such as Business Operations or Finance would be an advantage
- Comfortable working in high performance computing or cloud environment
- Experience of working within a global organisation, preferably within the Pharmaceuticals sector
- Experience and knowledge of existing AZ IT systems would be a very significant advantage
- Familiarity Talend ETL and MicroStrategy
