Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Using your eye for business and creative problem solving, you will build data products and generate insights that will allow our business and product leaders to make better-informed decisions. We’re growing fast, so there’ll be tons of opportunities for you to make an impact and take charge of the direction of your work.
Product Analytics at Atlassian is multidisciplinary. The ideal teammate is someone who has the skills to surface insights quickly, and communicate those insights in a way that persuades action by senior leaders, product managers, designers, marketers and engineers. You’ll use SQL, R, and/or Python often, but you won’t be at your desk all day. Part of your job is to improve the data literacy of your product team, teaching people when, where, and how to harness the data available.
You’ll be working within our IT Solutions Product Analytics team, collaborating primarily with the Jira Service Management and Opsgenie (Sydney, Bangalore and Ankara) product development teams.
On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
A proven experience applying your analytics skills to projects which have had a positive impact to strategic and product roadmap decisions
Strong ability to communicate. Explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences, crafting compelling stories, and managing multiple stakeholders
Expertise and experience in working with very large data sets in SQL
Expertise and experience in modelling and visualisation in another data programming language (Python, R, etc.)
Proficiency in one or more analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Power BI)
Expertise in foundational statistics (data distributions, inferential statistics, probability etc.) and modelling (regression, classification, clustering etc.)
It’s great, but not required, if you have:
Familiarity with event-based analytics, data instrumentation and logging
Experience in breaking down complex problems using MECE frameworks
Experience in designing and analysing experiments that drive key decisions
Experience working in a global environment with remote teams
Knowledge of and experience with widely-used workplace collaboration tools and integrations between those tools
An understanding of the SaaS development, business model and metrics
Are an active member of the broader analytics and data science community
