Organization & Role

As a Senior Machine Learning and Perception Engineer your job will not only be finding and perfecting the right model(s) and architecture for perception and computer vision solutions. You will also work on identifying key problems throughout our Automated Guided Vehicle systems that can be solved with Machine Learning. You will work closely with our global engineering team to deliver on these solutions. We are looking for an engineer who will exercise their knowledge and experience with complex solution development for autonomous forklifts in the US and abroad.

At AutoGuide Mobile Robots we donโ€™t just work on components and parts, we create choreography for fleets of cooperative mobile robots. Our autonomous mobile robots are custom designedโ€”from the first piece of steel to the last screwโ€”to move around the biggest, most complex factory floors in the world. Weโ€™re seeking big-picture thinkers to join our team.


Responsibilities

  • Utilize knowledge of Machine Learning / Deep Learning frameworks (I.e. TensorFlow and PyTorch).
  • Knowledge and experience of state-of-the-art perception and computer vision.
  • Experience working with different sensor modalities.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor Software Engineering team members.
  • Provide technical leadership in areas of specialization and contribute original ideas and improvements to project designs, pipelines, and tools.
  • Play a key role in deciding technologies and related roadmap for development, testing, deployment of AI/machine learning models.
  • Help build an amazing software team by participating in our hiring process.


Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years in hands-on experience working with AI/ML algorithms applied to Perception and Computer Vision.
  • Strong proficiency and knowledge of technical concepts in data science, analytics, and data manipulation.
  • Outstanding critical thinking skills and ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts to mixed and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience developing machine learning systems, frameworks, libraries, and system architecture.
  • Research experience that may include deep learning, computer vision, reinforcement or active learning.
  • Comfortable working with a remote, multidisciplinary, global team with the ability to travel internationally as needed.
  • Experience managing teams and projects.


Education


  • MS or PhD in computer science or related field.
