Summary of Responsibilities
The business intelligence developer organizes and studies data to increase the company’s efficiency to maximize profits. This role analyzes large amounts of data and produces reports based on department requests and identifies trends. This position is also a key member of the property budgeting team.
Primary Responsibilities and Objectives
- Develop, analyze, interpret, and present numerous reports to executives, regional leaders, and other departments as needed
- Develop and provide oversight of property budget template
- Extract, compile, and interpret data from multiple systems and translate into meaningful information
- Participate in business intelligence platforms implementations and provide training as needed
- Gather user requirements for additional views and reports for business intelligence platforms
- Responsible for maintenance of business intelligence platforms including general ledger mapping and report validation as required+
- Create month-end reports and leaderboards using data from business intelligence platforms to post within social learning platform and Avenue5 Scorecard
- Maintain data points representing key metrics within various reporting trackers including following up on data gaps
- Assist teams with understanding business intelligence data by translating variances, calculations from KPI’s, and performance and general metrics
- Guide associates with business intelligence related questions through Avenue5 helpdesk
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- One to two years of property management experience is preferred
- One to two years of experience in Yardi Voyager or other equivalent system is preferred
Skills and Requirements
- Advanced level knowledge with MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (including Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, COUNTIF and pivot tables and VBA is required)
- Prior experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other related Business Intelligence system preferred
- SQL experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a demanding environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights and actionable recommendations
- Detailed oriented and a desire to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of management effectively and sensitively
- Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses if assigned
Scheduling
- Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
- Travel may be required
Environment
- Exposure to environment typically found in an office building
