Avery Dennison is seeking a Global Business Analyst Lead – Sustainability and R&D to join our Global IT team. In this role, you will identify and conceptualize initiatives to advance Avery Dennison’s performance and reputation in Sustainability based on Business Analytics. The Global Business Analyst Lead – Sustainability and R&D is considered an impactful, dynamic position within our organization as you will lead the global portfolio of two critical business groups, this includes directly managing and developing two business analysts assigned to the respective functions.
In order to succeed you will have to act as the link between IT, R&D and Sustainability groups of the business and leverage the decentralized, multi-functional internal network of Sustainability champions. Therefore it is critical that you have experience driving innovation and positive change by applying your IT business analysis skills and by bringing together diverse groups of partners.
You will interact with geographically dispersed teams across time zones and cultures. The work location is flexible and the travel requirement is limited, although we’d ideally like you to be within commuting distance of a major Avery Dennison Headquarter. You will directly report to our Global IT Director – Operations & Finance.
Core responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for the IT Business Analyst group globally by crafting a motivating environment for team members to meet and exceed goals including, IT goals for Business Partnership, as well as organizational objectives for Efficiency, Performance and Profitable Growth. This includes providing feedback and coaching to help achieve individual goals.
- Conduct detailed needs’ assessment, business and cost-benefit analyses to identify gaps with business operations, and support design and implementation of IT system changes in line with the overall IT/business strategy.
- Build a deep understanding of company processes and operational metrics to the point where you can both effectively and proactively find opportunities to use analytical solutions for improvement of processes and overall strategy, as well as define metrics to measure business success
- Manage multi-functional, global projects
- Drive continuous improvement of our IT practices, procedures and provide input for developing long term roadmaps
- Bachelor degree in computer science, engineering or business (or equivalent experience), MBA a plus
- 5+ years of demonstrated success in a global Analyst (or similar) role within an international, manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to the R&D function
- Demonstrable ability to effectively lead & manage multi-functional, global, complex projects
- Experience with conceptualizing and driving Sustainability initiatives is strongly preferred
- Creative thinking, good interpersonal skills & ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical people
- Experience with implementing IT solutions supporting R&D, Lab and Sustainability related processes is strongly desirable e.g. Lab Information Management System (LIMS), Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), Instrument Integration, LCA, ESG, Legislation and Regulatory etc.
- Knowledge of Google Suite (including BigQuery, Google Analytics, Google Data Studio) is considered as plus
- Fluency in English is required
