Salary Range:
$43,400.00 – $72,400.00
About The Opportunity
Under the guidance of the development manager and other members of a development team, individual is required to work within a team of other software engineers and product specialists. The software components are complex and diverse in nature, written in a mixed set of languages including C, C++ and C#.
Specifically, the candidate will be assisting with the development of unit test cases and automated test harnesses. The candidate may also assist by troubleshooting and maintaining existing software.
AVEVA uses Agile Scrum methodology for software development. The successful candidate is expected to work closely with other team members to deliver within agreed timescales. AVEVA requires a talented, innovative and motivated candidate for this role who will contribute to the team with new ideas.
Competencies, Knowledge and Experience
Behavior
- Active participation in Scrum sprint planning and estimating; backlog maintenance; ‘stand up’ meetings; sprint reviews with other team members, Scrum Master and Product Owner.
- Validating solution designs with key AVEVA technical and product specialists in line with agreed consistency and architectural processes.
- Collaborating with fellow members of the Scrum Team and other stakeholders to ensure software delivery is on time, feature complete and to agreed quality standards.
- Raising day-to-day technical issues at the ‘stand up’ to team members, Scrum Master and Product Owner.
- Ensuring all code is fully reviewed, tested by writing in-built code and documented. Participate and comment in review sessions (usability walkthroughs, spec and coding reviews).
Key Working Relationships
- Expected to maintain a good working relationship with the wider Product and Platforms Development groups.
- Required to work with members of the test group to ensure the quality of the delivered product
We’re looking for:
Self-motivated individuals with a passion for creating software
Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or PhD program
Computer Science, Computer Engineering
GPA 3.00 or above a plus
Intern applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. AVEVA is not able to sponsor applicants for work visas.
Software development experience in one or more modern programming languages (C++, C#, HTML/JavaScript, etc.)
Required Skils:
- Working knowledge of Visual Studio / .Net tools, Object oriented programming
- Successfully completed a course (online, in class) on network theory and multi-threaded programming
- Excellent interpersonal, spoken and written communication skills, including writing technical and design documentation.
