Job Description
The Technical Systems Analyst will primarily focus on user and system support, service order resolution, break-fix, routine maintenance, configuration and utilization of tools to send proactive alerts, creation of error messages that provide actionable information to end users, creation of system design and configuration documentation, development of step-by-step support task documentation for ancillary support groups, and other activities designed to streamline day-to-day operational support.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serves as front line of support for customers and users
- Participates in on-call rotation with other EIM App Operations team members.
- Actively participates in system projects, change planning and execution and executes routine maintenance for EIM technologies
- Documents procedures and maintains knowledge base
- Helps to manage a backlog queue of approved demand to best achieve goals and mission
- Point of contact to add defects and enhancements to backlog and follow thru on details/status with vendors and other resources
- Works in conjunction with Energy Resources Architect, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, Operations Manager and Resource Manager and other stakeholders or staffing sources (professional services) to optimize the value of work performed
- Manages a Kanban / WIP of EIM demand activities through managing the process of receiving demand from various inputs and works with engineering staff to assess complexity, duration and priority of demand
- Ensures the Product backlog is transparent and clear, communicating the sequence of work items for resources
- Provides analysis of demand timelines, resources, backlog management, constraints and iteration planning
- Product backlog refinement and prioritization based on highest value to our customer; Facilitates regular meetings with stakeholders (architects, POs, business, DM, Ops, BTA, etc.) to review and refine backlog
- Facilitates regular meetings with EIM Apps Steerco to prioritize backlog of vendor work (defects and enhancements)
- Works with POs and Release Manager on UAT and deployment scheduling
- Coordinate, plan, and manage work across other functional teams
- Administrative items such as billing and timekeeping
Requirements
- BA/BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or a related field
- 2+ years of related experience as project, program manager, analyst
- Knowledge of Agile processes and tools
- Knowledge of software development methodology such as code pipelines, CI/CD, and automated regression testing desired.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge about Energy Markets and Utility business functions preferred
- Knowledge about CAISO Western Energy Imbalance Market preferred
- Knowledge about Power Costs Inc. GenManager and Asset Operations systems preferred
