Job Description BAE Systems is the independent, unbiased, and weapon systems integration agent for the US Navy’s Strategic Systems Program (SSP). We perform a variety of roles within the bounds of Systems Engineering & Integration, Lifecycle Logistics, and Information Technology / Information Management. We collaborate with subsystem contractors to ensure system level integrity, safety, and performance. We are hardware/software agnostic and offer an independent perspective based on best value to our customers.
We are currently looking to expand the team focused on developing and modernizing the Technical Data Management program within SSP. The position is 25% hybrid/75% in-office and located in either Rockville, MD or Washington D.C. We are looking for individuals with working a knowledge of Windchill PLM or equivalent and capable of creating a story from the previous, current, and projected future status of technical data.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Working knowledge of Windchill PLM tool as a data repository (cataloging data, report generating, developing notifications, configuration management)
- Ability to train internal/external personnel in use of Windchill PLM tool
- Needs to understand (or comprehend quickly) how ODs, OPs, WS, Engineering Drawings, and Models work and are related to one another.
- Looking for someone who can create a story from the current and future status of the technical data
- Highly Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, data manipulation, visual representation)
- Highly Proficient in PowerPoint to put together presentations for content
- Communication Skills need to be at a high level so individual can convey their findings internally and externally
- Proficient in QA methodologies to ensure content within data repository is captured correctly
- Understanding of Library Science/Management
- Knowledge of SSP inner workings (preferred)
- Knowledge of how repository content will be linked with MBSE efforts (preferred)
- Ability to capture and brief internal/external personnel on recommended changes to current or future PLM efforts for Technical Data Management (preferred)
- Customer Interaction (willingness to travel to Navy Yard from either Maritime/Rockville)
