Hybrid Working
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. Introduction
Barclays is embarking upon a transformation of its Business Banking technology stack to Ab-initio and HDFS . We believe that our roadmap is one of the most exciting and innovative in the banking industry. This hands-on role will be responsible for developing solutions on a Ab-initio and Hadoop platform to enable internal systems, external partners (brokers) and customers to engage with us quickly and seamlessly.
- Working with the team to design, build & deploy ETL solutions using Abinitio, Hadoop and SQL, implementing automated monitoring, and testing complex frameworks.
- To build & design application architecture, environment setup using ETL Abinitio.
- Be prepared to be an active member of an Agile team and assist other areas when required
- Effectively utilise a Automation pipeline for ETL solution to optimize our build quality and time-to-market.
- Build software to standards and of high quality. Responsible for testing of self and / or peer-developed code.
- Collaborate with other interfacing teams to ensure successful end-to-end delivery.
- Will be responsible for training the team and Assessing and designing new business change processes, systems, products and services on a change project Plan Change. Ensure all governance, risk management, controls and compliance requirements are considered during development of requirements and designs.
- Develop and implement new business change processes, systems, products and services on a change project. Provide an aggregate high level view of the combined proposed solutions and ensure alignment with the change solution.
- Extensive experience in Software Development with Jira, Jenkins technologies
- Expertise on the following: ETL Abinitio, Hadoop(HDFS, Hive, Impala) ,RDBMS(Teradata/Maria DB/Oracle)
- You will have a good understanding of how ETL BIW project works as E2E solution.
- Strong hands on experience of Abinitio and Unix.
- You will have a good understanding of BIW environment within Barclays.
- Strong debugging skills to help resolve issue during development as well as in production
- Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to find ways to overcome obstacles and self-teach new concepts
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or similar.
