Introduction:
Virtualisation VMware Support Specialist, based in Pune, India. Part of the Cloud&Virt Service Operations team providing 24×7 supports for the Cloud and Virtualisation estate within Barclays. Build and maintain strong relationships with peer service operation organizations and the rest of the Cloud & Virtualization Team.
What will you be doing?
Key specific accountabilities.
- Manage Barclays own private cloud automation failed tasks at SOD, start & mid shift, escalate when necessary
- Undertake fully documented technically simple remediation tasks
- Monitoring Barclays own private cloud mailbox and escalate accordingly
- Attend daily cloud calls, answer user queries
- Manage more complex remediation tasks
- Develop more sophisticated and exhaustive documentation
- Resolve Complex ESX issues as per approved KB articles on VIS wiki, and escalate to L3 when appropriate
- Perform monthly clean-up of powered off servers
- Current knowledge and hands on experience of virtualisation and automation technologies (Vmware/KVM) as well as HP and Cisco UCS and Nutanix server hardware technologies.
- Working knowledge and demonstrable experience of supporting MS Windows and/or RHEL on virtual platforms.
Have good working understanding on VMware SDDC suite and have good hands on experience to support technology like vRA/vRO/vSAN
What we’re looking for:
- VMware 6.0 + Certified
- VRops Certified preferred
- Good understanding about VMWare SDDC
- ITIL Foundation
- Good Communication Skill
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Exposure to support VRO, vRops & VSAN & NSX
- Exposure to AWS Public Cloud Infra support
- Exposure to Provide VMWare Infra Support
- Scripting knowledge
- UCS/Nutanix
- Exposure to OpenStack Cloud OS and Linux KVM an advantage.
- Experience working with Service First an advantage.
