Introduction:
- As an experienced Platform Engineer/Developer, your mission is to design, develop and deliver software components within the EDP BI eco system. You will work with a team of innovators and technologists driven towards creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will be tested in problem-solving in both a business and technical context.
- We are looking for hands-on developers, who enjoy solving challenging technical problems. Candidates should be inspired by working in a collaborative, fast-changing environment with a high degree of code sharing and reuse. Focus on innovation and quality of solutions should be demonstrated by their contributions in previous professional roles or projects.
What will you be doing?
- Ensure deliverables comply to Barclays standards and policies (for security, data privacy, accessibility)
- Day to day support and escalation handling coming from wider tech teams or L2 support team
- Identify possible design / deployment issues and work with product team on remediation
- Support of:
- highly available distributed systems
- automation of deployments and testing
- Drive deliveries assigned within running Scrums
- Ensuring all delivery and support tasks are recorded and completed in a professional and structured manner
- Constantly review standards and best practices to identify performance improvements
- Suggesting new ways forward and coming up with new feature / automation ideas
- Collaboration with cross-functional support teams
- Ownership of defects & work closely product team / developers to review changes & contribute as required
- Contribution in service improvement
What we’re looking for:
- An Engineering DegreeB.E/B.Tech/M.Tech in any stream – Computer Science preferred.
- 5+ years of Core Development/Admin experience in Business Intelligence area.
- Very good understanding of Business Intelligence core concepts, technology and toolset.
- Very good understanding and handson with BI Products like Tableau, Qlikview/Qliksense, Opentext.
- Good understanding and handson with any RDBMS like Oracle, MySql, SQL Servers etc.
- Core programming languages: Java / Scala or Python
- Bash shell scripting
- CI / CD toolchain knowledge
- Prior experience with agile methodologies.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Experience implementing / supporting solutions on AWS
- Good understanding of BigData/Hadoop concepts
- Exposure to one or more additional technologies in the platform namely DB2, MongoDB, MariaDB
