As a Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing, implementing and managing compliance with the relevant standards, procedures and controls by working with the relevant asset owning teams to ensure they understand what they need to do, and offering support and guidance as appropriate. You will be responsible for reporting against a number of validation metrics and help to drive improvement in compliance with HAM processes, tools and goverance. You will assist in the delivery of all related HAM activities, for example – data collection, reporting and investigation. You will also be involved in the day-to-day support of the asset disposal function, working with colleagues, suppliers and other relevant areas to ensure that requests for collection and disposal of redundant IT assets are managed in a timley and accurate manner.

What will you be doing?

  • To drive adherence to and compliance with the Hardware Asset Management processes and controls by working with the relevant asset owning teams to ensure they understand their responsibilities, and offering support and guidance as appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate hardware asset data is available to report against validation controls and assist asset owning teams with understanding the reports and how reported exceptions can be corrected.
  • To be a main point of contact for IT asset disposal activity – checking and processing requests for collections, liaising with the 3rd party disposal partner, raising purchase orders to cover the cost and working with data sets to ensure matching asset records are updated correctly at end of life.
  • To help in driving strategic improvement of HAM proceses, tools and governance.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate to stakeholders on governance, risk and control for Hardware Asset Management.

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to articulate and communicate to senior stakeholders on governance, risk and control for Hardware Asset Management.
  • Working knowledge of Hardware Asset Management processes and control types and how they interface with other areas e.g. Configuration Management.
  • Understanding of IT asset disposal and the relevance of this in the HAM lifecycle.
  • Data analysis / investigation / reporting experience

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Working experience from one of the following roles:
    • IT Asset Managers
    • HAM Consultant
    • HAM Advisor
  • IT asset disposal processing / records management
  • Good knowledge on ITIL and ITSM
  • Certifications, such as ITIL / ITSM
  • Experience of CMDB, and IT Asset Management
  • Experience in using the ServiceNow toolset
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
