Overview: Our long-term client relationship with NASA has led to a need for a Data Solutions Project Manager/Architect – Human Space Flight (SE&I) on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration (HSFTIC) contract at Johnson Space Center (Houston, TX).

Responsibilities: The Data Solutions Project Manager/Architect – Human Space Flight (SE&I) will:

  • Perform project management and solutions architect duties in order to lead process improvement initiatives that promote the progression of SE&I expertise within a more digitized SE&I environment which incorporates data digitization systems (DDS) including product life cycle management (PLM), requirements management (RM), and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approaches.
  • Apply project management principles and techniques to initiate, plan, execute, and deploy new data solutions across multiple programs (ISS/Orion/Gateway) for successful execution of project outcomes.
  • Architect innovative new data solutions for existing and new processes, to create efficiencies and to elevate work processes.
  • Lead diverse teams of systems engineers, data analysts, and developers through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Utilize understanding of the product life cycle to establish Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) performance initiatives for effective execution of project plan, risk, schedule, cost, and task management functions.
  • Establish and lead working relationships with NASA leads, requirement owners, and commercial teammates’ key personnel to gain their advocacy in the implementation of innovative data integration solutions for performing more efficient SE&I functions.
  • Coach and mentor team members in project management principles and data solution best practices.
  • Perform all other assigned duties.

Qualifications: Required Education/Experience/Skills:

BS degree in Engineering from an accredited engineering school, plus twenty (20) years of applicable and progressive engineering experience.

  • Applied knowledge of product life cycle development, sound project management principles, and strong working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of project management practice associated with definition, design, development, verification, implementation, testing, integration, validation, and deployment of complex systems.
  • Knowledge of data digitization systems (DDS), tools, or initiatives that promote the digitization of the systems engineering & integration discipline.
  • Knowledge of Space Exploration programs, the International Space Station and its subsystems, or one or more visiting vehicles and modules (Cygnus, Dragon, CST-100, Dream Chaser, HTV, Soyuz, Progress, Gateway, Axiom).
  • Extensive experience with innovation or process improvements projects and initiatives.
  • Excellent communication skills (in both written and verbal), integration, coordination and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, SharePoint).

Preferences:

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience in higher-level programming languages such as C#, C, C++, XML, .NET. Implementations, or Java.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as SQL, JavaScript, Bash/Cshell, and/or Python
  • Experience with business intelligence and artificial intelligence platforms such as Sisense, Tableu, or PowerBI.
  • Experience with High Performance Computing, Business Intelligence/Artificial Intelligence Solutions, Machine Learning, and Enterprise Architecture.
  • Working experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software, JIRA or other similar tools.
  • INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP).
  • Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering (MSSE).

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
