GENERAL SUMMARY:

Summary:

The Performance Improvement Data Analyst carries out the functions of data collection, analysis, and reporting pursuant to departmental and organizational projects and objectives, with oversight and direction from the Technical Operations Supervisor. The Performance Improvement Data Analyst is experienced in the healthcare delivery process and is responsible for reporting data from diverse data systems to support the functions including but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Continuous Improvement, Infection Prevention, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), and Peer Review. This position supports the effective use of various organization systems. This position provides support to the Technical Operations Supervisor for all data entry, collection, analysis, and reporting efforts. This position is responsible for assisting with all established routine reporting – as well as ad hoc reporting in response to data requests from the Technical Operations Supervisor or others within the Performance Improvement department or within the Organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Accurately abstracts data from a variety of information systems.

2. Responsible for preparing all assigned weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports, based on established schedules and departmental/organizational needs, to be submitted to the Technical Operations Supervisor for validation and distribution.

3. Under the guidance of the Technical Operations Supervisor, responsible for abstracting data and preparing reports for all new, ad hoc requests for data, as assigned.

4. Performs initial analysis of compiled data for all assigned reports, communicating with Technical Operations Supervisor regarding any newly noted trends, opportunities for improvement, or unusual data points.

5. Works closely with Technical Operations Supervisor to analyze all quantitative and qualitative process and outcome data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

6. Responsible for organizing and maintaining all saved reporting and records, both electronic and paper, based on the needs of the Technical Operations team and the Performance Improvement department.

7. Assists Technical Operations Supervisor and/or other members of the Performance Improvement department in preparing data, reports, presentations, and other materials for a variety of departmental and organizational meetings.

8. Responsible for data entry from one source to another, as needed and assigned.

9. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibility.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL:

  • Education Associate Degree

    Related field

  • Credential

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 1 year of experience in a healthcare related position with direct experience working with hospital EMRs and other health information systems. Preferred: Direct experience working with hospital EMRs and other health information systems for the purposes of data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Education Bachelor Degree
