Job Location: Bethesda, MD
The Public Sector Manager is responsible for partnering with senior leaders within the Practice to manage business development, practice development, and project delivery activities. The Manager is a member of the Public Sector Practice leadership team and may be involved in direct supervision of staff, performance management, problem resolution, task delegation, and/or client project execution. The Manager will drive problem solving and fact finding, while working side by side with experienced team members, management, and client leadership, and will support or lead firm practice, solution, and business development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Database Administration, Data Science, Engineering, IT Management, Mathematics, or Statistics, required
Experience
- Ten (10) or more years of relevant professional experience, including at least 5 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models, required
- Familiarity with, preferred:
- Coding knowledge and experience in several languages (c, C++, Java, Javascript, etc.)
- Statistical and data mining techniques (regression, random forest, boosting, tree, text mining, social network analysis, etc)
- Querying databases and using statistical computer languages (R, Python, etc.,)
- Using web services (Redshift, Spark, DigitialOcean, etc.,)
- Creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics
- Expertise with one of the key data management areas: data management., data quality, metadata management, data governance, data modeling, design, storage and operations, data integration and operability, document and content management, reference, and master data, preferred
- Experience in managing or leading firm initiatives, client project activities, and/or staff, preferred
- Experience leading or supporting Public Sector practice, solution, and/or business development initiatives, preferred
- Public speaking and/or training experience, preferred
Software
- Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance, required (US Citizenship required)
- Proven ability to drive business results with data-based insights
- Expertise with developing and implementing data management strategies, processes, and technical solutions
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels within the client organization and in the firm
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team environment and with a customer service focus
- Ability to follow instructions as directed
- Superior organizational skills required with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Detail oriented with in-depth knowledge and application of English grammar and ability to proofread all written materials including proposals, pitches, presentations, etc.
