Director, Analytics and Reporting
Location: This position can be V-Connected/Remote or from a Bentley office
Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to be the Director of our Data Analytics and Reporting team. We continue to expand our Analytical environment to allow our stakeholders and end users to access business critical information quickly and easily. While this role is focused heavily on our QlikView platform, including both Sense and View, you will have the opportunity to learn and work with additional technologies throughout our environment including, but not limited to, PowerBI, and Snowflake. You will manage internal reporting by maintaining our existing KPI reports and dashboards as well as generating new analyses. You will also maintain, educate, and support business users for best practices for reporting and analytics.
In this role you will:
- Work directly with stakeholders and end users to identify requirements and develop solutions to meet their data and reporting needs.
- Manage the data analytics team and the systems used by them including QlikView, Qlik Sense, and PowerBI.
- Focus primarily on data modelling and building the best applications possible. Work with the team in report designs and be responsible in recommending appropriate analytical approaches and methodology in addressing key issues within the business.
- Lead the data analytics and reporting team in research, development, and implementation of appropriate BI solutions and innovations that lead to improved business performance and achievement of overall business goals.
- Oversee corporate and ad-hoc reporting standards
- Know our data model inside and out, and create infrastructure to help others on the team self-serve with analytics needs
- Work with server configuration, layout, design, front end development and future planning
- Work across all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and implementation
- Collaborate with the Data Engineering and Data Governance teams to ensure that the requirements of Data Analytics and Reporting meet the guidelines and policies of Data Governance and that the data models architecture managed by the Data Engineering team meet the BI needs of the Data Analytics and Reporting team.
- Be responsible to stay informed and keep up with latest industry trends and best practices on data analytics and business intelligence to allow constant growth and maximized team performance.
- Lead the team in creating enablement content, as needed, on the navigation of Enterprise Reports / Report details.
- Advocate and champion a data-driven culture among the business units and executive leaders.
- Perform similar duties along the team’s charter as assigned by the Head of Data Operations / Director of Data Office
Qualifications:
- Management experience
- Strong project management and people management skills
- Experience with business intelligence applications
- Enterprise application administration experience
- Previous experience with using data to drive business decisions is a plus
- Be detail oriented and focused on ensuring data integrity / report accuracy
- Be a creative, strategic and independent thinker
- Possess excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet timelines
- Be proactive on addressing gaps / innovative ways of improving reports and analyses
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical
- Own and manage projects from start to completion – eliciting requirements from business stakeholders, performing proof of concepts, design and development.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer. The role requires communication with managers, peers, and other colleagues of the company in person (on occasion), and by utilizing Microsoft Teams chat, calling and meeting functions.
- This role may require infrequent travel to a Bentley office
